Flipping the classroom

In the previous two readings we focused on the following:

1. how education systems reflect the societies they are in
2. how education needs to change to keep up with changes in society
3. the roles of students and teachers
4. what skills students need in the future
5. What role technology can play

You are goin to look at two types of lessons using technology.

• Watch the following video showing how technology can change the way teachers work.

• look through this biology lesson using a Web Quest to teach students about Plants. Make notes on how this may be a valuable learning object

Think about how these lessons might help develop the skills mentioned in the two readings. For example, how might they help students:

1. communicate
2. work in teams
3. compromise
4. think critically
